Welcome!

Daniele Gentile M.A., LCAT, ATR-BC

I am Daniele, a born and raised New Yorker, daughter of an immigrant, Caribbean-black bi-racial woman, and lover of plants & coffee.

I provide psychotherapy services to teens and adults (ages 12+). I offer a holistic approach to therapy through creative and evidenced-based modalities (read more here). I believe taking care of ourselves is like tending to a garden. We all have a beautiful and wild internal landscape filed with various flowers, plants, weeds, and crops. The fruits of our labor require work, patience, grace, space, and nurturance to tend too. Sometimes in order to reach “peak bloom” we have to sit with the discomfort of the rainy season. Throughout all seasons of your life, I provide an empathetic, collaborative, and non-judgmental space to support you in weathering life’s transitions.

My previous clinical experiences have helped shape my therapeutic approach. I worked in Group Private Practice for 4 years. I have experience working individually with teens and adults, as well as leading various workshops and groups. At the Group Practice I was able to lead Corporate Wellness Workshops for various organizations, such as law firms, streaming companies (like Netflix), and academic programs (such as SEO Scholars).

I have worked directly with survivors of sexual assault through a non-profit in NYC, where I focused on providing alternative ways to process past traumas and sharing psycho-educational tools with participants. I helped develop and lead a Mural-Arts Program for students in grades K–8 as a part of a Summer Enrichment program in Bridgeport, CT. I also have experience working with NYU Langone, supporting individuals with chronic illnesses, and OHEL Children & Family Services, where I provided services at a community-based mental health center and in schools.

I currently implement these forms of treatment into my therapeutic approach:

Art Therapy

Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing

DBT Skills

Nurtured Heart Approach

Trauma–informed Framework

Mindfulness–Based Stress Reduction Skills

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
